With Santa Anita and Hollywood both having cushion tracks, and Del Mar having Poly, dirt ability won't matter much for SoCal horses anymore. For the top-notch ones that want to ship and win G1s elsewhere it will, but for the majority of SoCal horses, ability on the tires is now more important than ability on dirt.
In terms of talking about this year's distaff for this particular filly though, we are in agreement. A horse should probably win SOMETHING on real dirt before the talk of a BC win on dirt begins.
