On our racing channel today, they had the trainer of Miss Andretti, he said the only other Aussie horse he fears is Takeover Target....... he said he had no fear of Bently Biscuit, which slightly surprised me.
He also said that there wasn't too much confidence because they felt that we have been dumbing down our sprinters making them seem not as good, but in all fairness, he is right. We have been so used to have rubbish sprinters that i think we have got used to saying it, but fact is this year we have some very useful sprinters on our hands: Asset (he is VERY smart), Amadeus Wolf (his trainer expects him to be the best sprinter in the world), Dandy Man (the quickest of them, he will take some stopping over 5 furlongs) and also Benbaun, who won at The Curragh yesterday.
I wouldn't get too confident if i were you. Don't forget, our horses just have to get into a truck a travel a maximum of 4 hours, your hopes have to fly at altitudes of about 30,000 feet for a total of 31 hours, in unine poisoned air and that isn't even to mention the differing climates, which especially affects the oestrus cycles of the fillies and mares......... just a few subjects you might want to think through before getting too confident.
