Default Memorial Day

I'd like to honor the memory of those that gave so much so that we can have,
protect, and maintain the freedoms they paid for with their service.
Though this holiday was once called "Decoration Day",it seems more fitting to me that it be called what it is, a day of memorial.

I intend to visit my late father's grave, and nearby, my great uncle's.
They will again have a tiny flag, carefully placed by the local Boy Scouts, to remember what they gave. I'll say a prayer, though I know they're not really there. Their graves will have wildflowers, bird songs, and the morning sun to complete the peace.
Gee, I wish we had a Peace Day. Maybe someday. Maybe.

Anyway, if you have loved ones that served, or just want to feel appreciative for a moment, please take a moment to reflect. Keep them all in your memories...as that's the memorial.

"There is no glory in battle worth the blood it costs."
-Dwight D. Eisenhower
