I just watched it again, a bit more objectively this time. Dominguez had him in a foolishly tight spot at the back of the pack most of the race. When they turned for home, he wasn't far behind Street Magician, but he swerved left, then compensated by swerving far right, that's when Dominguez almost fell off. Had he kept a straight path, his close, coupled with Street Magician's trouble on the rail, may have made for a close finish. But all this is certainly meaningless now. Next time Hobbit runs, it may be valuable.
