Ruthless was not only a filly, she was foaled in NY! A NY bred! Imagine...
It really is too bad that the G1 Belmont is a non-event for so many horses which at some point in the season were considered amongst the top 10 Derby candidates. In fact it almost seems like for all but the Derby winner, the the Preakness and the Belmont are meaningless.
