At that point it is nearly impossible to defend that he believes in anything more than the allmighty dollar......and that is just the point about this entire bidding process that should scare everybody. Who are the bidders that really care about racing and who is merely being lured by slot dollars. Since none of them, save NYRA, had any interest whatsoever in 1997 when the franchise was up for renewal, or in any prior years, why should we suddenly believe they care about racing now?
