Either he, or his Dad, bet over 100 dimes on her in the Mother Goose and skewed the odds ( she was a super tough luck loser ).

On a side note, Lite Light finished the Pick-6 that day ( it used to end in the 8th ) and it paid a whopping $211 or so. There were at least two 1-5 laughers in the sequence ( one was a Mack Miller - Rokeby horse, I think named Secret Sharer, that won by 15 on the turf ) and only one mildly tough horse who won at about 3-1 on the lawn. I remember liking that horse, as well as thinking Lite Light was a cinch, and hitting the Pick-6 like 4 times for $16 or $32.
