date, track, race number(for irs because i don't care about this), race condition(including turf or dirt and now poly), type of bet, result.
mine is fairly sparse for the last 4 years. once i started tracking my wagers in 1999, the fact that i lost became too obvious to ignore. i've had 1 winning year in 7 through 2006. this year doesn't look like a breakout either.
anyone who isn't keeping track of every bet they make has no idea if they are winning or losing. your mind exagerrates the wins and minimizes the losses. keeping track of your wagers is like lighting a candle in the dark. i highly recommend tracking every wager you make. i guarentee you are not doing as well as you think if you aren't.
i lose betting horses. i win playing poker. i can prove both statements. i won't make a living doing either so i keep showing up every morning m-f.
