He learned a lesson about the dissemination of information, or potentially misinformation, at an event like this. His experience was similar to mine last year when I gave out erroneous info about Showing Up that had been provided to me by a very reliable source. Given the original source of the quote, I can say that people attacking or ridiculing Dew for his eagerness are on the wrong side of the fence. Give him a chance. His judgement was bad in this case. It will be better next time.

while all of this may be true...he should still ultimately have to explain his mistake and accept responsibility for what he wrote...it's part of his journalistic integrity no?
