I'd also like to add that Funny Cide's win was also a great thing to see. Even though he has never been my favorite horse, it was great to see him show courage and win a nice stakes race. So many have foolishly bashed this animal who is obviously past his grade one days but still a useful horse when spotted properly. Its not the horses fault that he has ben mismanaged at times or that he is a gelding who is still knocking around when his 3Yo contemporaries have been long retired to stud. Horses who race a long time develop certain minor problems that slow them up a little bit. But nothing is better to see ina race horse than heart. He showed this weekend that he still has heart. I certainly don't want to see a horse who has battled gamely and at times in his career shown greatness be referred to as a joke. He has a large following of fans and its good for the game when he wins and shows heart.
