What made it funny was knowing the obnoxious boob-crazy lout was going home at night to his wife and kids- to me, it was kind of a funny peek into the mind of any average guy. It was his schtick, and it worked really well. Once he and his wife got divorced, and he really was out sleeping with strippers (or at least, you knew he could now if he wanted), it just lost the funny because he was just another rich famous guy who could be as obnoxious as he wanted to be because he had no restrictions. He was no longer someone I could see the average guy identifying with, you know?

So, why I no longer listen to him- his particular gimmick is gone, and what's left just isn't funny to me without the gimmick. Which makes me sad, because I really did enjoy him for many years.
GR: well said!....except that Stern constantly berated his wife for years. On the positive side..WE did agree for once!
