I think its coming down to this:

If the advertisers think they will be hurt if after his detention hall he comes back and there is a backlash, he is cooked. If the advertisers dont pull adds, then they think its worth having him on, limited damage done. He stays.

The people who pay the bills for the on air time will have the decision how much it will hurt to keep him. And that ultimately is the advertisers. These people are not dumb. Plenty of little polls and such will be done.
