John,

Had 10% of Funny with my late friend Malcolm Souness who passed away in January and 'BBQ Bill' Mayberry. He was with Gary Sciacca for us starting in August 2005 (2yo) and he was about to start in December at AQU when he got sick. Then in January '06, he kicked the stall wall and laid up 30 days with a bruised ankle. In February, days before being entered for that elusive first start, he yanked a shoe half off overnight and bruised the hell out of a frog. Another three weeks. His first workout off that injury, he seriously injured a front leg. 8 months on the shelf. Fact is that all his problems were from NOT being gelded, but Malcolm didn't want it done and there was no arguing with him.

Bill brought Malcolm down to Florida in November and Funny went too. David Fawkes took over his training for free in exchange for a 50% interest and got him ready for the Gulfstream start. He was great last month and put in a very solid effort. Three offers came in from NY connections and Parisella's was too good for David to pass up.

So, he's where he belongs, in NYB company, and if he can stay healthy, will be productive. He has a good burst from the gate. That dosage is a bit of a joke as his pedigree is obscure. Hope he does well and stays sound. He's smart and has a great personality and as was the case with the other horses Malcolm owned in his life (Audio Cassette and In Memorium), talented at a bargain price.
