No, obviously you don't get that far on sheer luck. But that season, in my humble opinion, will continue to be the exception for them, not the rule. So they got lucky and had a good season, it happens all the time to teams.
Baseball may not be my very favorite sport to follow, but I'm not buying the hype. If they were so good, the Cardinals wouldn't have posed a problem, a five game problem at that.
