I'd definitely consider that a positive. If something seems wrong with the horse he more than likely isn't going to hit the board anyways even if it doesn't turn out to be an injury. Why destroy the horse trying to get him up for 6th when you can tell he's not right? (That's rhetorical, I didn't think you were saying he should do that)
