Song and a Prayer in the 2001 Fountain of Youth. 17/1, clearly the speed of the race with Edgar Prado on a track that has always favored speed.
$200 to win.
Funny story, 5 minutes before this race went off, I had $200 to win on a horse at Santa Anita called Oh Jazzy Day at 10/1. It was one of those 6 1/2 furlong turf sprints. He came to the top of the stretch with a 10-15 length lead, easy. I said to my friend, "Hes going to have to do a lot to lose this race", not 5 seconds later the horse hit the proverbial wall and started staggering like Oracle back in his college days. It was brutal to watch, he finished like 5th.
