I can't think of a more opportune time to win the points contest. No pressure of picking the next venue since it is already picked for us. Post positions were drawn for both days last night and the cards are set. Now we just have to start digging to try to find a few golden nuggets.
The truly international flavor of this year's BC is best exemplified by Rachel King, who will be riding Satono Carnaval in the Juvenile Turf Sprint. I believe that she was born in Great Britain, currently rides in Australia, is riding a Japanese based horse in a race in Southern California. She will need to get back to Melbourne for Monday's $5 million Melbourne Cup at Flemington Race Course. Her colt is undefeated in two starts, but how that translates to Friday's level of competition is a complete mystery.
