1. Start your Sunday card at 11:30 and run a $500K Guaranteed Early Pick 5
** NOTE ** Look at your average early Pick 5 Sunday handle to estimate your risk (You are welcome)
2. Run your races as follows
Race 1 11:30 AM
Race 2 11:50 AM
Race 3 12:10 PM
Race 4 12:30 PM
Race 5 12:50 PM
I waive my usual $150 per hour consultation fee but would appreciate some Sweet Belmont Stakes 2022 Suite (Just Kidding)

Not sure how many people are sitting around sports books relative to how many people are betting on line ( not to mention with bookmakers ). Do most Sportsbooks even take racing?
Regardless, it's certainly worth trying to find ways to engage sports bettors, but I'm not sure if you want to anger your core players trying to do this. Also, you cannot run races at Belmont 20 minutes apart. 24 or 25 is probably the least and even then it's hard. I think 27 is the shortest we ever go to. Plus, when you do this, it has a negative effect on handle.
I always wanted to try one or two Saratoga Brunch cards beginning around 11:30, as the place empties out on Sundays by 4, with most people heading home by then, especially if they are from out of town. I'm all for trying different post times, though later posts are not great for handle. Not sure about earlier as it pretty much hasn't been done.
I think as racing tries to integrate more with sports betting, maybe an earlier start on Sundays will be something at least someone tries. People in racing don't ignore good ideas just because they aren't their own. They may steal them without attribution....but don't ignore:-)
