We don't need to worry about Dos Equis having any equine references (including the possibility of running the beer through the horse before serving it - although Cal phrased it in a much more elegant way).
In fact, Dos Equis means two x's (XX) and even features two large X's on the label. Way back in the 20th century it was called "Twentieth Century", or Siglo XX. When the next century approached, a new name was used with the trademark XX carried over. At the same time, the ad campaign featuring the "most interesting man in the world" began and sales skyrocketed.
As for the horse reference, in Spanish a horse is un caballo.
Stay thirsty, my friends.
