Early SCRATCHES on a miserably rainy @PegasusWorldCup Day @GulfstreamPark

For most of the last 30 days, the weather has been ideal here in South Florida. So what happens when Pegasus World Cup Day rolls around? Yup, pure misery.

It's been raining since the wee hours, and there's little sign of things letting up as the 12-race Pegasus card unfolds. The forecast calls for a 60-to-90-percent chance of rain alllllll day, with the high temperature reaching only 67.

First post is 11:30 a.m. ET, with the $7 million Pegasus Turf going at about 4:50 and the $9 million Pegasus at about 5:40. The two big races will be shown live on NBC (4:30-6). There are no early scratches in either race as of 9:45 a.m.

Making an educated guess that the main track will be sloppy and floated all day, and already the first 3 turf races of the card (R1, R3, R5) have been shifted to the main track; that leaves 4 stakes (South Beach, La Prevoyante, McKnight, Pegasus Turf) still on turf. There are scratches aplenty, but it's worth noting that the rematch between STORMY LIBERAL and WORLD OF TROUBLE, is still on, albeit at 5 furlongs in the soup in the GP Turf (not) Sprint (R3).

Here are the early SCR:

R1 (off turf): 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16

R3 (off turf): 2, 6

R5 (off turf): 2, 5, 10

R6 (still on turf as of 9:45): 13, 15, 16

R9: 1, 5

R10: 1, 11, 13
