Race 3
#4 Kirby’s Penny (30-1) - John Velazquez takes the mount and we’re looking at two really nice workouts on Oct 23 and Oct 28. I think JV sends this one and sees if anyone can catch her, but she’s also got the versatility to stalk and close if the race plays out that way.
#11 Finley’sluckycharm (10-1) - She’s shown the ability to fire off the bench and has been working out really well over the last month.
Race 4
#12 Richard’s Boy (12-1) - Miller horse that may have the most early speed in the race. The addition of blinkers has me thinking that Richard’s Boy jumps out to the front and makes the others horses come after him. Note: He came back on 2 weeks rest last year for this same race and put in a good showing.
Race 7
#1 Whitmore (6-1) and #8 Limousine Liberal (6-1) - Neither are exactly longshots but with Imperial Hint (9-5), Roy H (5-2), and Promises Fulfilled (6-1) in this race, there could be a decent price for either or both of these. We’ll see.
Race 9
#5 Wonder Gadot (15-1) - I think the Travers took a lot out of her and the hope here is that she’s getting back into form and ready to run a big race. Clearly she wasn’t ready for the Cotillion. She’s run over this course before and run well. I’ll take a shot on her at 15-1.
Race 10
#8 Liam the Charmer (30-1) - I like the possibility that he’s well positioned heading into the stretch. Seems like sometimes he’s got a late kick and sometimes he doesn’t. So hopefully he’s got it today.
Race 11
#10 Yoshida (10-1) - Nice win in his dirt debut. This horse seems to always be running at the end, so any scenario where there is a pace meltdown, I really like Yoshida to be able to pick up the pieces.
Good luck all.
