Btw.. You might think it interesting to know that I saw Real Quiet run at Lone Star Park in April of 1999. Beautiful animal. Lone Star was practically brand new, a stunning-looking facility on gorgeous grounds, with a track modeled after Santa Anita's. Baffert had brought in the Derby winner to take the big-pursed G3 Texas Mile. However, the horse was upset by Littlebitlively. You won't find that bit of trivia in Real Quiet's past results at Horse Racing Nation, but it's true.  |
Banter, Patty and I were there that day too. Real Quiet is one of Patty's all time favorite thoroughbreds.I took tons of pics of RQ that day and we have one in a small frame in our bedroom We now live no more than 15-20 minutes from the track. It needs a casino but this overly conservative state will never make it happen.
