Prior to that race, several people went out of their way to tell me that the emphasis belonged on the first syllable, while lamenting that Trevor always emphasized the second. I would never reference such a criticism of him, except for being forced to explain myself. If I was inaccurate with a vowel sound in a later syllable, I apologize and - as I've always made clear at any opportunity - I'm extremely open and receptive to all constructive criticism and correction.
However, given [A] I (supposedly) employed the correct emphasis and [b] Mishegas raced in close proximity to a horse named DIPLODOCUS, I have to tell you that I felt quite relieved to exit the race call (at least, I thought, at the time) unscathed. Furthermore, as my own absolute, full-time, harshest critic, I thought I "read" that race particularly well. Your criticism seems an extraordinary "bone to pick."
