DDoS attacks are a form of cyberterrorism in which a website is flooded with thousands of unique visits, solely intended to force the website offline. Xpressbet, along with several other online wagering companies, have received several such attacks over the past few months, the majority of which were mitigated quickly and without interruption to your wagering experience.
Please know that we are continuing to work with our technology partners to build additional safeguards into our system to prevent future attacks from impacting you and your ability to wager.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to assure you that your personal information remains our highest priority. We utilize advanced security and encryption software to ensure your information is safe, and while these attacks impacted our website, they did not impact your personal data.
We apologize for the inconvenience this caused, and assure you we are working tirelessly to continue providing you an unparalleled wagering experience.

A DDos attack is intended to cripple an online site, whether that site's purpose is online wagering, e-commerce (eBay), stock trading, or simply informational.
Encryption technology, provided that it is AES-256 or of that class, is great for protecting data, however that has nothing to do with the actual service's availability.
To be very honest, XB could NOT have been using the latest technology available to prevent DDoS attacks and that alone should be the call for users to have a second source of online wagering. Please note that I have been in the security software industry for more than a decade and would expect a more complete disclosure from any online site experiencing a DDoS attack.
