You are absolutely right, the race did get setup for the 1 in an absurd way. I don't know how pace figures can be accurately done when you have a field of jocks strangling their horses back and no one willing to run early, the riding in that race was particularly bad.
Not only Saez, but Jose Ortiz gave the 8 zero chance to win that race, he gets the horse mid-pack then shuffled back to last and blocked up the rail in the stretch.
You would think these guys would learn at some point particularly on what is supposed to be the best circuit out there, yet time and time again we see the same nonsense. Then we see it happening on other circuits at well. Mind boggling.
