Basically, we're the only nation who
can do it precisely because we do give zero f*cks about the sport. As they say in the article, FIFA is less a sports entity than a sovereign nation, and an extremely corrupt one at that. I laughed at the depiction of the Swiss agreeing to extradition- "We don't extradite for financial crimes- what? It's FIFA? F*ck yeah, you can have those bastards."
