My immediate impression was that if was if I was Team Valor, I would run ANIMAL KRACKER on dirt next.

Same sire as Animal Kingdom (Leroidsanimeaux) and he looks like he would love more distance. Impressive colt and one to watch.

ANIMAL KINGDOM's first race as a 2YO was in Sept 2010 in a Msw29k at Arlington Park in a 8.5f dirt race originally scheduled for the turf. He finished a fast charging 2nd with a BSF of 67.

Then his original trainer, Wayne Catalano, kept him on dirt and moved him up to a Msw 46k at Keeneland in October where he improved to 84 BSF and won easily.

Then Graham Motion took over and trained him seemingly with turf in mind, entering him a 1m turf OC 50k at GP in March after a 5-month layoff, where he finished 2nd (BSF 83).

Later that month AK dominates the 9f G3 Spiral with Alan Garcia aboard with a 94 BSF.

Next race, he wins the 10f Derby under Johnny V, flying down the stretch 6-wide. BSF 103.

Deja vu all over again with ANIMAL KRACKER? I'm sure Team Valor is dusting off the blueprints from 2011...

Animal Kingdom's first dirt race was the Derby. His previous starts were on synthetic and turf surfaces.

I do agree and think they will eventually try the dirt with Animal Kracker.
