The ultimate goal and golden egg to its supporters is communism where the government will decide wages (kind of like they're doing now) and will also decide abilities and needs (kind of like they're doing now with taxes and social programs) only on steroids.
And there's a great quote that goes something like, "If you sit at the table and can't identify who the sucker is within the first half hour, then you're the sucker."
For God's sake the government has squandered over $2.7 trillion from the people who not only need the money but are owed the money, our retired and retiring citizens to fund things like a study of why obese girls don't have sex.
