Question for trainers - equipment
 

My subjective impression is that European horses are commonly seen in what looks like a simple D- or O-ring, not uncommonly no noseband; American horses don't seem to hit the track without tongue-tie, figure-eight, more complicated bitting. I know the purpose for use of each piece of equipment, but any comments on why such a difference between Euros and Americans? Thanks.
