Phil Mick

Phil the Pickel Mickel is back up on the leaderboard at Pebble. Looks like a 2 horse race between him and Furyk.

Wonder if his biggest fan, the O man knows this?

Fatboy Phil found his game.Just like that? On his way from Phoenix to Pebble Beach,he just found his game? At some point, you gotta understand that he doesn't give a sht until this time of the year, and he could care less after the 1st NFL game starts, too.September,October,November,December,Jan uary...Nope,and actually he closes shop mid-August(after the PGA.)10-1 ON HIM WINNING THE MASTERS is pretty decent.I can't rely on him though. After that guy blows a tournament that I play him in,the last thing I want to hear is "Well,I don't know what to tell you," or " I don't know how to answer that." KEV,which one does he say? One of those 2 gems.

"I don't know what to tell you. I really felt that I prepared the best way possible coming into this tournament"

that is along the lines of his normal statement...

FYI: don't play Phil to win the Masters...root for Tiger. I need him to win THE NEXT TWO MAJORS

SCUDSBROTHER 02-11-2007 10:26 PM

One of the best tournaments in the World is the Dubai Desert Classic. Why? Because Tiger can't resist taking the bribe to come, but he really doesn't play the course that well.He is usually struggling in that tournament(like the last 2 years.)They simply choked (incredibly) to allow him to win it last year, but this year Stenson was too solid for Tiger to beat with his C game. He is smart to take the L.A. Open off this week.He has never won that. When fatboy is playing well (and this could be a vein of good play starting up here,)he can compete with Tiger for Majors(especially this next one.)The huge difference between them is in how long they can maintain their good play.Fatboy often loses form in the 2nd half of the season. Did he do anything after the Month of June last year? He is good from mid 1st quarter until halftime.

Scuds, I think the US Open really hurt Mickelson's psychy last year. Hes immensely talented but doesnt have the mental strength like Tiger to rebound from tough losses. That pretty much explains his 2nd half of last year. I think he played what 2 tournaments after that US Open collapse? I knew he would win this weekend after he was up there on the lead on Friday, so I didnt tune in at all yesterday or Saturday.

Cajungator26 02-12-2007 06:29 PM

Wow guys... he's a human being. You think he WANTS to lose tourneys? Do you really think that? LOL

SCUDSBROTHER 02-12-2007 07:42 PM

No,he doesn't wan't to lose, but often he doesn't expect to win.Tiger expects to win them all,and (if you notice) even when he is way behind,he never says he doesn't have a shot.See,I believe Phil and Tiger have about the same talent, but one is a hell of a lot more game than the other.Look,it is hard to take Phil seriously(as a true competitor) when he plays about 7 months a year(off n' on,) and Tiger plays about 10 1/2 months a year(off n' on.) You tell me who is doing more with their talent. It isn't a matter of talent.Phil has a ton of talent, and could easily come top 2 in the Masters again this year.If Phil was a great baseball player,he would only join the club in mid-June.

Phil is a flawed human being...as are we all...but that was a nice story of his random act of kindness to the tune of 100,000 for college tuition for Conrad Doblers' daughter on ESPN golf. I'm going to lay off him for a while. His charitable stuff is far outweighing his gambling, and smarmy character, and the rest. He also has the program for Vets and their families which gains contributions from Phils' birdies and eagles! He's doing more for society than I am...and I could use a little more Grace from above!:D
