Why Run When You Can Scratch

Four late scratches on the entire Gulfstream card......

and three of them are trained by Bobby Frankel.

Did Allday miss his flight? Wait they don't work together anymore.

does it have them listed as vet scratches or trainer scratches?

He is the King of Scratch. At least he doesn't win like he did a few years ago anymore.

too much weight on them?? that's his usual war cry.

Bobby Frankel's obligation is to himself, his clients, and his horses---not to the bettors who are funding the purses.

And while Frankel is the most notorious for doing this--other trainers do their fair share IMO.

The vast majority of trainers do not care what is in the best intrest of the betting public...and Frankel is no exception.

The racing officals are solely to blame.....they are the ones allowing it to happen.

I'd like to see a Battle of the scratch trainers...Dutrow and Frankel. Match races between their horses. Handle should be $0 and attendance in the teens.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-04-2007 03:31 PM

Frankel would romp. He's been doing it far longer, at a much greater level, and on both coasts.
