Tomorrow At Delta Race 8. Walk In The Snow, Winner Of Almost $700,000, 15 Wins And 16 Place Out Of 44 Starts. Won A 75k Stakes Race As Recently As July Of 2006. Now Is Running For $7500 Claiming As An 8 Yo Gelding. Uggh

can anyone claim a horse ? i know the betting part and the horse part but i dont really know the business part

You have to be a licensed owner for the state that you are claiming in. In addition, you have to have a trainer claim for you.

Thanks for the info. Do they ever have people just claiming these horses to get them off of the track?

Witch is right...In Illinois it is like $25 for an owners license or something, and then you get a trainer and he 'drops a slip' in for you at least 10 minutes to post

All the time, there are farms that claim horses and retire them right away, there are also people that claim horses and then send them to a retirement farm
