Fantasy Sports cheaters

It's amazing to me...I signed up for 4 fantasy basketball leagues this year, the board one, a public winners league and two private ones that looked interesting. I've tried very hard to keep the board league fair and have vetoed several unfair trades, public winner leagues are pretty fair usually and this one is that way but the other two private ones...man! I dropped out of the one right after the draft when the Commish went in and took players from various teams and put them on his team...amazing! Today, I see a trade in the remaining one by the league commish...he's trading Adam Morrison and Jeff Foster to another team for Shawn Marion and Antawn Jamison!! I mean really...why would someone feel compelled to openly cheat in a free league??? Says something about the character of folks I think...

Definitely does, and to make it worse I'm guessing it's "for fun".

Do our NHL rosters get locked in at the trade deadline btw? I was wondering how that worked.

All the Yahoo free leagues are certainly just for fun I would think! No, you can pick up free agents all the way through the playoffs. Thankfully for me as the only way I can stay competitive is to do so daily...I think I've made more transactions than the rest of the league put together yet the playoffs are gonna be hard for me to make! I do well at most fantasy sports but Hockey remains a mystery!

Well we have a lot of people that appear to have thrown in the towel unfortunately....I've noticed the past few weeks rosters aren't updated at all.

Yeah, that seems to happen in all free fantasy leagues...if half the league takes it seriously, you are lucky! I admit that few make as many changes as I do but there are some folks who haven't made a single transaction since the draft.

Yeah, it is disappointing that nobody trades. I almost never veto a trade unless it's obviously one-sided (like the above), sometimes folks will sign up more than one team in a league and then feed one so you have to watch that too!

Has anyone from this board every got a fantasy league together. That would be pretty cool to do. I only do fantasy football and I am awful. I have finished 8-8-7 the past 3 years.

hopefully it wasn't me you were trying to trade with. :)

i update my rosters about 2 weeks in advance because i kept forgetting to go daily and change them. i gave up on trying to go daily once i started getting thrashed in the league -- so i just activate those players who have games ahead of time so at least my team has a "chance."

I usually set up leagues for all major sports (basketball, football, baseball, hockey) on Yahoo...Hockey and Basketball are harder to fill so I have one league for board members (and open to public if not filled) but baseball and football, I set up 2-3! Papa finally had his winning streak broken this year in baseball, football and basketball are always wide open!

i've been getting killed on my goalies -- but the only time anyone offered me a goalie (turco), they wanted my two best offensive producers.

raw offensive points are the only categories i win with any regularity, so i'd have just been trading one for the other anyway.

my centers are producing quite well actually, i've been surprised -- Chris Drury is the biggest shock to me so far!

You have solid defensemen that can score points though. I think it was you I was asking for Pronger...LOL, must have been 2 weeks not 3:D

i still just can't seem to get a couple of weeks where it all clicks and i rout another player -- the best i've been doing is just staying close enough for playoff contention by not coming out of weeks with a LOSING record.
