Belmont 7th

Leo O'Brien just burned me. 0-47 this year and Lord only knows how many in a row you can add to that from last year wins a damn race. And his son in law was about the only guy alive who could have gotten home with a ride that was out of a textbook. Damnit.

well oracle you know what sidney dean said mike"sun shines on a dogs a$$ some days billy hoyle", i recently read about a trainer who hadnt won a race in like 13 years, lol said he refused to comment about it

Naseem rauf. yeah i guess thats how I should look at it. I mean heer I am burning up that I went 6 deep and tossed him but imagine how the guys that got beat by a guy who hadnt won in 13 years felt after he beat them? Thats the kind of beat that leads to 4 letter words galore.

co.....nice ride johny back...

His pet rat Ryan is Flying lost a very close headbob on Oaks day at Belmont. Otherwise he would have had 1 win going into today. That rat came back and ran his usual dull 3rd in today's 1st.

Oracle, so far I am 5 for 7 today at Belmont and I never bet New York racing. But you know, reading some of your posts for over a year now has given me some insight to New York racing. Next time I go to the track I may bet Belmont.

yeah playa thats the thing. WHen a stone cold guy who hasnt wona race since last fall send one out off a long layoff I'm outta there. To be a good handicapper you have to have principles and rules and you have to know that establishing good principles and rules will help you in the long run but occasionally cost you a good one. Kind of like identifying a dead sector in the Market, mayeb one stock will take off and roll and outperform the sector by why bother trying to identify that one stock when you can avoid that sector? I mean I've tossed O' Brien for 6 months and he finally wins one and I 'm supposed to be upset? The way i look at it I threw a guy out for 6 months and it worked real well. And teh fact that Johnny rode teh horse doesnt mean anything either, hes Leo's son in law and rides for him when Pletcher doesnt have one in and Leo wants him to ride. I guess guys just don't get it. You aren't ever going to hit every race.

You mean to tell me Oracle you didn't play "Theconfidenceman"? Come on I picked him in the contest just because the name reminded me of you! :p

very well said mike! horses like that i could maybe throw in a multi race exotic or underneath in that particular race but no way no how would i put any kind of win money on the horse. to use another analogy that im sure many are familiar with these days, put your money in in holdem with a premium hand and youll win more often than not, put it in with 8-3 and youll occasionally suckout nasty on somebody and find a nut but youll get burned a large majority of the time. there are reasons there are trainers that are below 10% and disgusting reasons why some are below 5

A good analogy. I figure people who would chase one like that would look to catch a 2 on the flop with a pair in the hole. Its gonna get you destroyed in the long run.

Mike, its the curse of Terry. Same last name. Remember he use to bet Leo Obrien's horses. Its Terry, he loves to beat ya!
