Flower Alley points to Salvator Mile

Flower Alley, winner of last year's Jim Dandy and Travers Stakes, is expected to make his return to the races in the Grade 3, $150,000 Salvator Mile on June 24 at Monmouth Park, trainer Todd Pletcher said Thursday.
Flower Alley has not run since finishing second to Saint Liam in last October's Breeders' Cup Classic. Pletcher said he is hoping to use the Salvator Mile as a prep for the Whitney on Aug. 5 at Saratoga and the Woodward on Sept. 2, also at Saratoga.

Makes sense. Its a two turn mile(not like belmont which is out of a chute) so he won't have to show blazing early speed off the layoff to stay close. Spacing is just right to set him up for the Whitney. I assume the JCGC after that and then the BCC. 5 race campaign designed to win the 3 most prestigious races for older horses.

Oracle, I couldnt agree more with Pletchers plan. Pletcher is a genius at mapping out races for his horses.

yeah it was announced earlier this year. It had really slipped in quality lately. Its an attempt to restore some luster to it.
