Jason Lumpkins back; Luis Martinez?
 

I see Jason Lumpkins is back riding at Golden Gate Fields at the moment. Three or four mounts today.

Does anyone know what has become of Luis Martinez? He was doing well as a Bay Area apprentice rider, but I am not seeing him on any mounts out here at present.

He went back to Mexico to care for an ill family member... not sure when he'll be returning to California.

J Lumpkins seems to be nomad, he bounces around from track to track.
He must have ridden at least 6 tracks for at least 2 month stay at each
one them. I know at least MNR, Del Park, Turfway and NoCAl

I know I've noted Lumpkins out here at this time of the year in the past, so maybe he has some seasonal motivation to where he rides.

was ex jock Corey Black.

Hmmmm. Watch Lumpkins with Stauffer as his agent. Just sayin'....

He and his family do have a farm in Kentucky near Turfway. He had been in Northern California before and has contacts with Hollendorfer and others. Doesn't ride at Turfway as much due to a falling out with his former jock agent in Kentucky.

My memory is not as good as it used to be.....

but, I seem to recall that Jason Lumpkins had a tough go after the Turfway riding tragedy death of Michael Rowland about three years ago.
