Your Tent or Mine out for the season

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Your Tent or Mine, a top 2-year-old at the 2005 Hollywood Park fall meeting, will not start in Saturday's $100,000 Affirmed Handicap because of an injury that had ended any hope of a 3-year-old campaign, trainer Neil Drysdale said.

Drysdale did not elaborate on the nature of the injury but said that Your Tent or Mine would need surgery.

"It's knocked him out for the rest of the year," Drysdale said. "But he'll be fine."

Your Tent or Mine has not started since finishing second to Brother Derek in the Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity last December. He missed the Triple Crown and the early season preps to those races after suffering an abscess to his right front foot in late winter.

Owned by Anthony Speelman, Your Tent or Mine has won 2 of 3 starts and $173,250. He won his stakes debut last November in the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes at seven furlongs.

The absence of Your Tent or Mine will leave the Grade 3 Affirmed Handicap with an even smaller than expected field. The race is for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles.

Among probable starters are three horses that started in the Kentucky Derby - Point Determined (who ran ninth), Cause to Believe (13th), and A. P. Warrior (18th). Arson Squad, who won the San Pedro Stakes at Santa Anita on April 9 and was third in the Laz Barrera Memorial Stakes here on May 20, is another probable starter. He will make his first start around two turns in the Affirmed.

Coming from Drysdale, this horse could have a bruised foot or a cold!

Have to agree. I think he likes his 4yr olds and would find a way if possible to avoid having anything in his barn race until then. I like his older horses but he sure does baby his 3yr olds. I couldn't believe he put Really Indian in the Peter Pan off 1 start. Really odd for that guy and considering how he ran I am sure we will never see it again.

the horse has been on the shelf the majority of the year, dont understand why some are questioning him
