Half Ours

Is anyone else curious to see how he runs tomorrow?

I dunno if I would say curious like I'm on the edge of my seat, his wins were so long ago in such short races, to me hes almost like a 6.1 million dollar first time starter.

I actually wasn't aware of the injuries he had...that's a lot of money to pay for any horse, let alone one who has been put on the shelf twice for a hind cannon bone injury. Good luck to them though.

he's listed in the Form as owned by Aaron/Marie Jones and Barry Schwartz so it sounds as if the partnership still exists. Was there another party prior to the sale?
Honestly, he may win the thing but I see him as a cold "bet against."

Correct sir.

Linny I don't care what it says. The DRF also had Lipton and Cassidy listed as the owners of Half Heaven this past weekend when in actuality Stronach had purchased her at the sale in Kentucky.
The DRF doesn't always get informed of private sales, and will use what they have on file in the horses last race in their database unless someone informs them differently.

Well, sort of, but what really happened was that Barry Schwartz bid the horse up knowing, or praying, that Jones would pay any price.

I am quite sure Barry did not want to pay $6 million, or $3 million for the other half, for this horse.

But at least now he can re-name it, All Mine.

When you have as much money as Jones does, I believe the term is not nuts, its eccentric.

I read the article on the front page of the FORM and obviously he's now owned just by Jones. It's just funny that the stats were not updated for such a well known horse. The nice thing is that Barry was able to get a lot of money out of the horse without him really doing anything. Of course, I have no idea how much he paid for his share in the first place...
Since the JC papers have to be on file for the horse to run, I assume the horseman's bookkeeper has the right info, should he make any money!

Oracle, how can I re-pay you for that 20 seconds of your life? Maybe a half share in the Green Monkey, once he gets to the races? Maybe a head to head bet between J'burg Star and Larry the Roman? better yet, I promise never to tip you on some first turf 2yo at SAR.

I tend to agree. I am kinda wondering how long he will stay sound with all of the injuries that have sidelined him for so long though.

Seattleallstar 12-13-2006 10:35 AM

they will end up gelding green monkey, and sell it to some hong kong billionaire where it will run up the track at Sha Tin
