Opening night at Churchill means one thing for sure. The Kentucky Derby is less than a week
away. If Churchill After Dark was a prep over the track a number of players found the track to
their liking. A few did not. 6 tickets were cashed and all four payout slots were filled. The battle
for 3rd place was a close one with Indian Hemp edging out Joly B. A nice exacta was caught by
JB but Indian Hemp nailed a win bet in race 9 and that followed a super box in the 8th and those
two wagers gave him the show spot by less than a deuce. Cal easily took the number two spot
with a tri key in race 9. It was a good one paying almost $99 for each 50 cent ticket. Cal had it
four times for a sweet profit of almost $295. The Churchill evening card however belonged to
NJ Stinks. NJS went all in with a $100 win bet on Tituba in the 7th and when she held on by a
head the win also went to NJ Stinks. The double digit win payout of $10.88 gave NJS an overall
profit of $444 and his first win of the year after 3 runnerup finishes. In addition the profit of $444
moved NJS into positive overall ROI territory making him the fourth player this year to be showing
a profit. In the next 7 weeks there is going to be $900 available to wager so it's make or break time.
