Best places to eat near Belmont Park
 

Does anyone have any recommendations on the best places to get food near Belmont Park? I’m not really interested in anything in Manhattan but anything on Long Island within a few miles of the track. I have a relative that lives near there and may try to order them some food this weekend.

Byk knows lots of places. I rarely eat out there so can't really help.

I know the Mig likes the Parkside ( I think that's the name ).

Park Side is actually in Corona, right across the Grand Central Parkway from the '64 World's Fair (Flushing Meadows).. Visit the Queens Museum if you're in that vicinity which houses the incredible Panorama of the City of New York, an exact scale replica of the city. The iconic Unisphere of course there as well.

It's Italian first as far as I'm concerned when by Belmont..

Everyone hears us collectively talk about King Umberto's because it's a racetracker hangout and we're very close to the owners Rosario & Ciro and their families, but it's just one of the options.

Further up Hempstead is Filomena's which is exquisite.. A bit away from the track but well worth the effort for Italian is 388 in Roslyn. If you make your way in that direction and want steak, there's Bryant & Cooper in a famed Middle Neck Rd. ('The Miracle Mile') location that at one time housed Manero's (which is still in Syosset).

Will get you some Floral Park options like Stella's and more later today..

King Umberto's is 10 for the scene and maybe a 6+ on the food scale.VERY reasonably priced wine

The 2 top choices in Floral Park are Stella's and Villa d'Este, both on Jericho Tpke.

Up Jericho is the original Buttercooky, a terrific bakery..

Try to get to old fashioned ice cream parlor Hildebrandt's in Williston Park on Hillside. They may be selling the building and it's rumored to be closing at some point. It's a treasure.
