Moving on to Pimlico so let's talk Preakness . . .

As customary, we have another $200 wallet and points getters will double the points they bag for each contest. Sorry, but no DonGuido's Eeely Eeely good pizza for the winners.

Thoughts, discussion and "what ifs" are welcome. Do you have any hot long shots to look at and since we seldom play this track anyone have any stories they'd like to share!!!:D

Entries will be drawn around 4:00 this afternoon, after which our discussion may begin in earnest. Just read that Un Ojo will not be entered, still dealing with a foot bruise.

When looking at Preakness contenders, I always am concerned whether Derby runners (and in the case of Secret Oath, Oaks runners)) will be ready to run at their best on only two weeks rest when none of them have done that before. In this case, three of the top four runners are doing that so it could have a major bearing on handicapping.

I wish I had some insights to give, but I don't. I'm just glad we're not dealing with another 20 horse field. I enjoy the Derby and the prospect of hitting some crazy payoff, but I have pretty much determined that payoff is way too elusive for us mere mortals. I guessing we will have a lot more players with some nice payoffs then we had on Derby Day. Although, that said, I'm not sure the Preakness itself will offer any giant payoff, if some of the usual suspects run in it.

I completely understand why none of your incomparable Hudson River Eel pizza will be available. But, given the venue, what about some crab cakes, seasoned with some Old Bay Seasoning and naturally washed down with some National Bohemian (their jungle used to include "while we're singing we're proud to say..... it's brewed on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay"):):)

Joly, I think that's very delicious idea and offering for this Preakness and all those to follow. And further I would propose and encourage you to be the chef preparing such to have each delivered to each Preakness contest winner (assuming it's not a SWEEP). And if you accept this most important offering I'll tap the forum coffers and there will be a bonus check coming your way. A little something special this year and those to follow.

Maybe RQ or Plenilune will find the urge to follow suit to take on a scrumptious delicacy for the Belmont contest winners that speaks to a signature delicacy of the Big Apple. Of course, starting with this Belmont and all those to follow.

That's why we pay you those big bucks and stock options to be our CHO (Chief Handicapping Officer) - you have the executive ability to delegate to subordinates.:D:D

MEWSINGS FROM THE LITTER BOX

Many Horse Lovers Including Moi
Have voiced an opinion
… More time between Triple Crown, 3 Races!

However “ Traditionalists “ will never change anything :(

Regardless of the potential damage you could do to Horses ~
……. Exerting that effort in just two weeks time

Which is why Many opt to NOT go to the Preakness
Considering the welfare of their Horse 🐎 over their own interests

Ideally I would like to see
DERBY IN MAY
PREAKNESS IN JUNE
BELMONT IN JULY

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that to ever happen :(

Are you sure you didn't mean sock options? My top drawer is overflowing with them from all the years here. ;) Moving on to the horses now.

Would you please consider just playing 3-13 or 4-14? Thank you.

Alli 05-16-2022 08:46 PM

Anchovies? :eek::zz:

I think the three year olds can take the two week break...it's the next break that makes the champion....or not. Exciting times..
