11/22: AQU Late P4 (6th-9th)

The perils, and pleasures, of multi-race wagering was on full display Tuesday at Philadelphia Park when my bad miss in R6 destroyed an otherwise strong day of selections. Yo Say, blinkers-on and very useable upon re-inspection at 8-1, topped Vanity Affair and blew out all three P3's as the last, middle and first leg of the trios. The combined value of the plays with his inclusion was $800. Uggh...

While the omission is a source of frustration, it also demonstrates why P3/P4 betting can work. The winners in races 4, 5, 7 and 8 were ALL chalky (5-2, 3-2, 3-2 and 1-1), yet the P3's returned $338, $245 and $210 because of 5th choice Yo Say.

Wednesday begins another period of traditionally famed racing nationwide with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Fairgrounds returns to the scene Thursday, another step in the reclamation of normal life in New Orleans post-Katrina. Aqueduct, Churchill and Hollywood all feature multiple Grade I events Thursday-Sunday, with the schedule as follows:

Thursday, 11/23

in the 8th doesn't girl in a uniform have enough speed to steal this?

Tom,

Thanks very much for the especially generous comments.. (And for the 'go' sign on Highland Pine who I was ready to single in the P4 before backing away and spreading..)

Best for Thanksgiving to you and yours..

Colt,

I looked at her and eliminated her from anything other than exotics consideration. She's disappointed me a couple times. I think the 5/6 are the 'class' there... Can't blame you a lick for casting your ballot Girl's way though..

the 4th looks out of whack the 5 is 9-1...dowtown hamill firster for levine..

I'm liking Girl in Uniform in the eighth at a price.
