Apologies To Those Who Preferred Oaklawn

Hey Don. Since when did we start allowing "extra races"? Especially ones that aren't that significant.

RUFFIAN 02-10-2022 04:35 PM

Unable To Change Topic Header Of Original Post
That Includes Razorback

I Did Now Eliminate The Razorback Race :(
Upon Request From The Boss

I Would Have Enjoyed Including It :{>:

Hey Ruffian - when you deleted the Razorback, you also inadvertently deleted reference to the fact that we will be playing races 3-11 at Tampa, starting at 1:11 PM. So that those who check the site later aren't confused, I think you should go back and clarify that.

I'll post the two threads and take care of it. Afterall, I'm part of the confusion.

I wish, was so happy when I read this before I scrolled up, and just kidding about above, love you all and this is great fun. I just am much better at handicapping Oaklawn than any FL track and am especially upset because last week I made that idiotic newbie mistake of picking the best horse in the race (Mo Donegal) without paying enough attention to the pace situation, his running style, or even realizing that the finish line was the 16th pole.

Just wait, eventually I will win this contest and you might all hate the track I pick for the next week, one where only I have heard of any of the participants. ;)

I lobbied hard and fast for Oaklawn. Eclipse said she misjudged the finish line. I was at Parx watching a Charles Town race on the monitor and was vociforously rooting my horse on as they approached the wire. As my exacta finished one two I noticed people still watching and realized it wasn't a 4 1/2 furlong race and they had another lap to go. Ummm...they didn't stay one two and I skulked away in shame.

Any time there is a marathon race, a couple of fans will always begin to cheer loudly when the horses approach the wire for the first time. This happens even when a conscientious announcer mentions that there is another lap to go. Always love to watch their expressions when the field continues to race.

Of course, at a bullring such as Charles Town they can go around several times before the race is over.

Wow, just wish I knew you guys were having a contest to see who could be the most confusing. I am a master of chaos and wouda, couda, shoulda, possibly won. At least probably have a better chance than I will tomorrow.:(:D
