Life Is Good OUT for Santa Anita Derby

Not shocking but disappointing. I guess we’ll see if the Kentucky Derby will be in play for him still.

It’s almost like Baffert and Smith were full of sh.it when they tried to pretend him getting out was because of the TV screen.

Odds of horse running in derby are very low now. Now it’s anyones race

RolloTomasi 03-20-2021 04:19 PM

Does this mean that Baffert will call a double audible and nix sending the great Spielberg to Gulfstream next week for the Florida Derby?

Will Baffert use this as an excuse (a la McKinzie's untimely hind end injury in 2018) to push Triple Tap into an unheard of--ignoring Le Prince's flirtation with starting in the 1990 Travers--move of making just his second career start in a two-turn Grade 1?

Will Simon Callaghan pedal back on his theory Roman Centurian prefers the tracks in New York and cancel the trip to Aqueduct for the Wood?

Is there still time for Santa Anita to entice Godolphin to send another unbeaten horse to Santa Anita to keep interest alive in another marquee race?

Will Paul Reddam's Wipe the Slate enter now that his chances of finishing within 20 lengths of the winner have gone up exponentially?

Dahoss 03-20-2021 04:23 PM

What are the odds that someone in the media will actually call out Baffert for his nonsense in our lifetimes?

1,000,000-1?

They will be praising him after derby when Medina spirit wins

I'm fine with all of that as long as we still get Concert Tour at Oaklawn!

Better keep a close eye on the worktab; these things comes in 2's and 3's (and 4's) if last year's split Arkansas Derbies are any indication.

Might end up with a Caddo River-Keepmeinmind rivalry...

All of my futures wagers involve Concert Tour so I hope you’re wrong about this one.

Bloodhorse quotes Baffert as saying that Life Is Good is off the Triple Crown trail.

Life is Good tearing up the Saratoga Training Track every weekend for Pletcher. Anticipating his first drill over the main track and see if he still drifts from the TV screens :) Anticipating the head on collision with Jackie's Warrior in the Allen Jerkens...
