3/20 (FG): LA Derby, FG Oaks Day
 

Proxy looks to add blinkers for the LA Derby. I’m not sure if Proxy is quite good enough to beat Mandaloun/Hot Rod Charlie but maybe this impacts the pace a bit and a horse like Run Classic or O Besos can break into the top 3 at big odds.

A few things I noticed.

Almost all the horses that won on Risen Star day were fairly close to the pace. The only horses to come from more than 2.5 lengths back were Maxfield and Clairiere. Not sure I put much into that. I haven’t watched all the races over again.

I watched the gallop out after the Risen Star and Midnight Bourbon and Mandaloun just keep going but Proxy seemed to be done running once they hit the finish line. Not sure if it means much but was sort of surprised since Proxy looks like a horse that won’t mind more distance.
