New York boys Question.......

What ever happened to the Paraneck Stable? I mean they were on fire in the 90's but I havent heard much from them the past couple of years.

Ernie keeps firing "trainers" and bossing trainers around. Now he has Alan Klanfer training for him. Wonder why he's all but vanished. The other issue is that he seems to have supported his rather weak stallions and is now fielding a stable sired by the likes of Adonis and Aristotle.

He had Achilles of Troy early this season. He got hurt on the Derby trail but someone told me he was back to training.

Thank you so much for the info. I thought we would of heard more from him since he has Undridleds Song.

Euro..

DTer 'Outofthebox' is their (Ernie Paragallo's) principal trainer.. He usually comes by here in the early evening.. I'll let him tell you. Of course part of the story involves Paragallo's tempestuous relationship with former trainer Jen Pederson... Paraneck had Achilles of Troy this spring and "OOTB" says he's coming back soon. They haven't found their next Unbridled's Song, but still get their share of wins...

Thanks so much Kasept. In the 90's that had some of my fav horses.

He's got Griffinite at stud in NY as well as the similarly bred Song of the Sword in Pa. Then he's got another son of Unbridled's Song in NY, Dynamite Song. Adonis did win the Wood and is from the Kris S line.

The history of Paragallo is of basically training the horse himself and using trainers secondarily. I think Klanfer is doing the best he can under the circumstances. He would probably say otherwise, but I doubt he's in any position to say it so.........

Randall,
I don't know him. just that there are some good ones that he stands.
Let's hope he doesn't make any one pick up a pitch fork for a while.
Doing your best, under the circumstances, seems good enough to me.

Let me add that I am not taking a shot at Klanfer. I think he does an excellent job, but I think it isn't the best situation....And I felt as though Pedersen wasn't treated well....So please understand the post before people attack me on it.

Randall,
I wasn't taking a shot at Klanfer either.
Heck, the demands of this "game" can drive some people to excess stress.
I also agree about Jen P. She had a tough row to hoe, in more ways than one. I won't tell the tales.
She put out some winners and did her best.

I know that DTS, you didn't at all. I just know Klanfer posts here and I wanted to make that clear. At the same time, politically speaking I don't think he's in any spot to give a truthful answer if it is negative on Paragallo so what difference does it make.

By the way I chased Interior so many times, so it crushes me to have missed that Sunday. Hate when that happens. Hope some here cashed it.

I have been chasing since I have been 16....

Now that I think about it, more like 13-14......

i cant believe somebody had the cajones to actually can jen pederson, afterall she enjoys chasing people down the shedrow with pitchforks LOL

Linny 11-14-2006 10:29 AM

Ernie has a reputation for being a tough owner. I give credit to anyone who works for him. He had some nice horses over the last few years and with luck they may turn out to be decent sires. I may be wrong but my understanding is that he's an owner who wants to call all the shots, giving little autonomy to the trainer.

I cant recall the horse's name but they sent out a nice looking maiden winner in the last couple of weeks.

I guess when you stop banging your owners its easy to take horses away from them.

Nope... it's not bad at all. We've had many days of horseshiat tossing. :D

They're herbivores, so all it is is grass, grain and hay. HAHA! I remember when I brought my first boyfriend out to the barn to meet my horse... he was appalled by the smell of manure and I knew right then and there that it was never going to work. :D

Danzig 11-14-2006 02:29 PM

yeah, i explained that it was basically recycled grass. didn't help the situation much.
sigh
some people have no sense of humor...

AMEN to that...

It'd be different if it were dogshiat or something of that sort, but horse crap is no biggie. :D
