Maktoums

All of this talk here and in the press about the Sheikhs being poor sports and not keeping horses running is an absolute, laughable joke.

Let's recap:

$6 Million Dubai Cup. Check, they won that.

$5 BC Classic. Check, double check. Ran 1-2.

So these guys basically built a track and fund a number of races designed to bring many of the world's best horses in training to their part of the world.

They run 1-2 in the Breeders Cup Classic.

Horse Of The Year Invasor is scheduled to run as a 4 year old.

Beyer, Pricci, et al, are writing columns and, as such, people here and elsewhere will defend their right to express their thoughts. That's fine.

Ask yourself, what more do you want from these owners and breeders?

I want their government overthrown and their assets frozen and eventually all of their horses and property put up for auction.

Good thread, btw.

yeah, the $6 million dubai cup where they send out drug info and then disqualify you for following said book...and aren't they allowed to bet, but the common folk are not? or am i misinformed?

they are apparently no more or less a sportsmen than anyone else, including the aforementioned marylou whitney, cash is king, the chapmans, etc.....

BUT seven of eight bc winners are remaining in training. that is excellent, and far above the avg of derby winners who come back the following year...

Let's not forget that if u add up all of the horses they have sent over for the BC, they are very near the top of the list of owners in number of entrants. They easily could have held out ALL of their runners from the BC and instead ran them on Dubai World Cup in a continuing attempt to try and make that the world's biggest and best day of racing. I swear that if I were them, I'd say to hell with American racing. They do all they have done and still get dogged like they have.

lets see if Maktoums over throw their own govt. may be we'll ask coolmore, or may be we'll ask our govt to do that (while we are over their anyway) !!!

What I want are owners who keep their healthy three-year-old colts in training. Horse breeding is not a sport.
