NYRA still has the quinella on races 2 and 4 every day. I've always felt that it has its place as an interesting alternative to the exacta box when you believe that the shorter priced horse of the combo is the more likely winner but you're not confident enough to play a cold exacta. I don't recall any of our players ever using the quinella, so it's up to me to try:

Race 4:
$52 quinella: 3 with 1
$48 quinella: 3 with 7

Good luck to all and thank you to Real Quiet for scoring.

It's ok, only one more humiliation awaits us for this year and then we can have delusions of grandeur about the coming contest year and who knows maybe we all got something out of this year. Certainly, not much money:rolleyes:, but we can always hope that the saying that you can't teach an old dog new tricks will prove to be false.:D

On another subject. Has anybody looked at the PPs for the BC yet? Turf mile looks impossible. 22 horses listed in the PPs. Course I'm sure it will be whittled down to maybe 14. Probably a great race for somebody to play one of those big multi-horse super boxes or part wheels.

Those pre-entry lists are pretty daunting, aren't they? It gets very difficult to wade through the groups of those who have declared first preference for a particular race but are pre-entered in two. I'm still puzzled over the fact that Magical has declared first preference for the Turf, but all of the pundits keep insisting that her connections really want to run in the F&M Turf.

The situation will be greatly clarified tomorrow evening when the actual entries are made and the post positions are drawn. I believe that starts at 6:30 PM Eastern and takes about 2 hours. Probably will be shown live on TVG. After that, the lists get a bit more manageable, but working through a field of 14, and comparing performances of races run in France, England and Ireland still leaves my head spinning.

I agree about the difficulty of making heads or tails of the euros. I can usually glean a little bit of info from the PPs like running style and class, but I don't follow European racing enough to know much about trainers beyond
Aidan O'Brian or John Gosden or Andre Fabre and of course you get nothing in euro PPs about works or race paces or speed figures.
