Sharp Lisa and Vacare were sold for big numbers also. anyone have any thoughts? good sign for the health of the industry. Repent |

yeah, guess its largely about pedigree at that venue. there were tons of broodmare prospects that sold for far more than her that I did not post. i just posted her sale price b/c she was such a nice racemare. there were probably some other nice racehorses without much pedigree that sold at Fasig Tipton that I missed. I just skimmed over the results and posted the higher prices and the notable runners like Bear Fan and La Reason. Repent |

same here. I really did like her as a racehorse, but I remember back at the end of 2004 that really good racehorses like Elloluv and Dublino sold for less(both sold for less than 2 from what I remember). maybe it was the dam side that brought Andujar's price up. seeme like Reddam has done everything right lately. The numbers are staggering either way... |

I do that and no one else would bid....then I would be looking around begging for the remaining $499, 995:o |

On a funnier note, I almost accidentally bid $1,000,000 on the next hip (the dam of the Green Monkey), i scratched my nose and he thought that was a bid and i said "noooooooooo"! didn't matter, was an RNA at that price anyways. |

LOL....just a minor scratch of the nose is all it takes...too funny. |
Quiet American mares are being held in high regard. Unraced and unaccomplished QA mares are going for a few hundred grand... so a G2 winner from an amazing family is going to bring some major bids. She's from the family of Real Quiet, Majestic Prince, Crowned Prince, TV Commercial... etc. Strong, strong family.

Yeah...that is what I was getting ready to say too:rolleyes:  |
Half Ours was the one I was interested in seeing go through the ring. There was a lot of hype around this colt as a young 2yo and he's got a family that has been real active lately and been patronized well at the sales. He ended up going through for 6.1 million to Aaron Jones. The prce is deceptive though since Mr. Jones co-owned the horse while he was racing and was truly buying out his partner. Half Ours will remain in training.

Is Half Ours in training right now? Last I saw he was turned out. |

This is a direct quote from the article link above... Jones, who owned and raced Half Ours, a son of Unbridled's Song in partnership with Barry Schwartz, bought out his partner to take total control of the gray or roan 3-year-old colt. Half Ours will remain in training with Todd Pletcher. Racing for Jones and Schwartz, Half Ours, who has two wins from two career starts, including a win in last year's Three Chimneys Juvenile Stakes, suffered a fracture in his right hind ankle which required pins to be inserted. Jones said the colt has begun working again. |
