Barbaro Surges to Lead in T-Bred Times Poll

The Undefeated champion Barbaro is well appreciated by the racing fans and has tremendous support for 3 yr old Horse of the Year. Check out the poll.

This does not surprise me, but even though I think Barbaro was the better of the two in terms of talent, championships are won on the track and Bernadini is the champion based on his accomplishments.

it was evenly split til yesterday when bernie retirement news came out. jumped to 60-40 in favor of barbaro. saw when i went to read todays news that now it's 65-35.
not that it matters in any way in regards to official voting.

Barbaro would be my choice, and its not a sentimental vote. I think he did more than Bernardini and would have done very well against older company. I think Bernardini will get it, however.

Logic states that Bernie should get the top 3 year old honors.

I still think that Barbaro was a better racehorse, but we'll never really know.

agree with you completely.

I pick Bernardini on this one. Nothing against Barbaro though.

You have to give it to Bern. Conjecture on what would have occurred had Barbaro not been injured doesn't change the fact that Bern won the Preakness, Jim Dandy, Travers, JCGC, and was 2nd in the BCC. There should be absolutely no debate, Matz himself said the same thing.

Buffymommy 11-08-2006 10:09 AM

Head says Berni, Heart wants Barbaro though. But Matz is right, Bern did more because he could. You can't give the award on "what might have been"
